Poppies

This is a card that I have made to Thank some people in the States that shall be sharing their home with us during our visit there in a few weeks.

The card is made from La Pash Poppies easel design. I cut out the poppies from the square background and used my own background made from white and navy card stock. The white card I daub with blue ink to represent sky. The poppies I lacquered with 3D crystal glaze.

I also used a ribbon punch to create the square on the base of the card and inter weaved these together.

Last but not least was the addition of peel-offs and gemstones.

Flowers - Kay

This card was inspired by Jane. When I asked her about trying to make a card for Mother's day last year. She told me about a vase template.

So off I went to the Sales and picked up a cheap bunch of silk flowers that I could cut up for this project.

I managed to find some cheap plastic glitter card and thought it would be great for the vase. But, boy! was it hard to work with. The crease/fold lines in the vase were far from perfect. So I added peel-off borders to these to try and hide some of the imperfections.

This worked a treat and I was delighted with the end result. As for Kay, well she was amazed that I had gone to so much effort - and this card was on display well after Mother's Day was over.

Daffodil - Thank You Card

This is another card that I have completed for Unit 1, using spellbinder labels four and Fancy Tags. All card from existing stock and the ribbon was recycled from an old chocolate box.



Daffodil is by Marij Rahder and the heart punch I picked up at a car boot sale.


The main feedback I got from the recipient is that they were not sure which way the card should stand, vertically or horizontally. But apart from that he was happy with the card.
